The Crew

Ricky Robinson (23 years) and Brennan Robinson (22 years)

Ricky and Brennan (both students at Wits) will be co-skippering Ciao Bella in the Cape to Rio 2011. They have both received Protea Colours for yachting, and are the holders of multiple national and provincial titles. They co-skippered RNYC to a third place in Lipton Cup earlier this year, and have just come back from a highly successful Mirror Worlds campaign in Australia.

Bradley Robinson (19 years)

Student currently studying towards his BSc at Wits. Brad sails Darts competitively, and has partook in the Dart Worlds in Italy (2008) and England (2010). He also represents Wits in Yachting and Hockey. Brad has been a vital player in the preparation thus far, and looks forward to an exciting voyage over.

Michael Robinson and Gillian Robinson

Michael (engineer) and Gill (teacher) will also be part of the crew going across. Dad's main function includes that of bank-rolling the adventure, while Mum's superb light-weather sailing skill will be in high demand as we enter into the vicinity of Rio.

Kathryn Robinson (25 years)

Kathryn (stockbroking analyst) will be doing the navigation for the trip.

Ryan Robinson (14 years)

Ryan, aka "Pocket Rocket" after his spectacular 5th place in the Mirror Worlds just past, will be a vital part of the team. Ryan is no stranger to the competitive sailing scene.

Michaela Mae Robinson (10 years)

Michaela Mae has just returned from her first international regatta, where she crewed for Brennan at the Worlds. Micky-Mae is a keen sailor, following closely in Ryan's wake (sometimes too closely for his liking). Michaela will be the chief pancake-fryer.
